| Geoff Fernald, co-chair, is a Berkeley electrical engineer from the '60s, was born in the town of Boron on the Mojave desert and attended six different first grades establishing his longing for good friends. Geoff expanded his narrow American World-view as a teenager in Oslo, Norway, and also at thirty, in a Volkswagen bus crisscrossing 30,000 miles of Europe and Russia with his wife Jane. During his thirty-six years as a research and development engineer and manager he led six technology teams to new products spanning widely different technologies: rapid transit vehicles, oil refinery motor controls, super- computers, medical ultrasound machines and cochlear implants that cure deafness. He and his wife reside in New Hampshire and California. Email |

| Jack Fisher, treasurer, has lived in California since 1946. He was in San Mateo until called into the service in 1951. Married in 1957 and has owned the same house in San Carlos since 1959. Got involved with Chickens' Ball in 1974. Loved it and got on the stage in 1980 and has been involved with it and the Kiwanis show ever since. Since retiring in 1998 he has filled every day by helping out at the Hiller Air Museum and doing some handyman work - everything from leaky faucets, to water heaters, to ceiling fans, or whatever. All that leaves little time for flying or biking or running. Jack says, "Life is good."Email | Dan Bellack, Apple Ambassador, spent over thirty years in the advertising and public relations business in Silicon Valley. He and his partners had a rather well-known (some say notorious) high-tech agency which they sold to BBDO Worldwide in 1988. Since retiring as chairman of TFB/BBDO in 1993, Dan is spending more time with his family (wife, twin daughters and 4 grandchildren) and his Macintosh. He enjoys doing the SCUM website and acting as our Apple Ambassador. When time allows, Dan tries to recapture his marginal guitar and vocal skills. He and Judy play a bit of bridge and travel. History
San Carlans Using Macintosh (SCUM ) was founded in 1993 by Joe Kimble. At that time Joe was a volunteer instructor in the Senior Center Computer Lab. Meetings were sparsely attended at the beginning but in recent years the membership roles have grown to over seventy-five members with an average of forty or more members attending each meeting. It became a Macintosh User Group (MUG) in 2002.
In 2005, the membership of the Peninsula Apple Users Group (PAUG) founded in 1983 voted to join forces with SCUM. A Special Interest Group, named the Intermediate SIG or ISIG, was begun which attracts six to ten members at its third Wednesday evening meeting.A Reconstructed History Of The SCUM Presidency
