Q. When cleaning out iPhoto 1/2 will trash, 1/2 will not delete Delete within the application.

Q. Emptying memory discussion not covered at last meeting.
A. Emptying the Trash does empty all trash cans in all drives that are connected and turned on, including flash drives. Some programs have a separate trash can.
Safari update: Opening a site that is often visited does not guarantee getting a current window, since it might go into the cache. To guarantee a fresh look, click on the refresh button.
Screen shots: Shift-Command-4 will give you a cursor for defining a screen shot which can then be printed. Snow Leopard does not seem to have an equivalent to what Leopard had in a similar function.
Shift-Command-3 will make a full window shot, and if the space bar is pressed a camera appears -- place the camera over a page to photo just that page.
Erasing old drive before giving away or selling your Mac: Secure erasing a drive in a computer: only sure, certain, absolute way is to remove it and crush it.

Q. How do you make a dvd from an e-mail attachment?
A. A specific application (perhaps HandBrake ) to read into IMovie. Also an $8 program called Video Box can be used to convert Flash Video into Quicktime that can be used on your Mac.Q. What converters are available for converting a wide range of video formats?
A. MPEG Streamclip is available.Q. Should one join Face Book when asked to be a friend?
A: It is a good way to keep in touch with friend and family. The question of privacy - you only put in information with which you are comfortable with sharing with the world.Q. How does one get rid of vertical lines in forwarded e-mail?
A. The side bars on a response can be eliminated with Apple Mail/Format/Quote Level/Decrease.

Q. How can one zoom in on pages?
A. Go to System Preferences and click on Universal Access. Then look for button to turn on Zoom. This is just for viewing, not printing.

A. Look at the character pallet in preferences. Using Key Caps you can see the keyboard. Quick hint: the degree sign, °, is shift-option-8.
